The grid layout of the streets, which still retains some names related to the French foundation, is one of the peculiarities that characterize the town and connects to the urban planning conception of the mid-18th century. The houses built in the town center present a traditional typology, and were originally built humble and small, though not without a certain comfort. An example of this type of dwelling is the one located on "Comte de Lannion" street, in front of the "Baix" mill, which stands out for its traditional architectural forms and its antiquity. It still preserves the small courtyard for access to the interior and a cistern attached to the facade of the house facing south. Other buildings, such as the one built in 1864 almost in front of the Church or the two located on "D'Allemand" street, move away from the traditional typology, as they were conceived as summer residences by their owners who, generally, have their main home in Maó. The facades present certain ornamental elements and have a patio in the front. They are Plata and Villa Francisca, initially built on the outskirts of the town, which have remained integrated into its interior after the recent expansion of the town center. The beautiful neoclassical lines of the Church can be appreciated from the "Pla de sa Creu", where the Count of Lannion, governor of the island, ordered the erection of the existing monolith in honor of the piety of the Most Christian King. A significant ethnological element, which was restored this year, is the winch well on "Comte de Lannion" street. Used until the middle of the last century, it was part of the network of wells in the town center to supply water to the residents. In the southern part of the town is the Plaza de la Paz, a roundabout that distributes the roads towards the coastal urbanizations. In its vicinity is the municipal sports area, which includes a natural circuit, a sports facility located in a large, tree-planted area.
