SANT LLUÍS
The beaches of Sant Lluís

The coastline is one of the main attractions for tourists visiting the municipality at any time of the year, and especially during the summer months when the weather enhances its natural beauty. The diversity of its coastal landscapes allows you to enjoy, in just a few minutes, everything from the fine white sand of a virgin beach to the sight of cliffs reflecting in the transparent waters of a cove. Rafalet and Biniparratx, located at opposite ends of the coastline, are the only two coves that have not suffered from the process of tourist urban development. Cala Rafalet is a narrow cove where the sea flows between imposing cliffs that lead us, inland, towards a splendid holm oak forest. Biniparratx, more spacious, hides the mystery of its prehistoric caves. The coves of Binissafúller and Biniancolla seem to have been forgotten by time, with their typical fishermen's huts in complete harmony with the landscape. Cala Binibeca also generously offers the possibility of enjoying a large beach, without urban development having diminished its appeal, as it has not done in the two previous coves. Punta Prima and Alcaufar were the pioneers in welcoming, since the 50s and 60s, the Menorcan families who enjoyed the summer. Punta Prima was awarded the Blue Flag this year, a distinction granted by the European Foundation for the quality of the beach and the services it offers to visitors. Alcaufar still preserves the special charm of its houses, fully integrated into the surroundings, without having suffered significant transformations over time that would have altered an architectural ensemble of great value. The fishing village of Binibeca Vell is a tourist complex built based on the forms of traditional architecture, immaculately white, with very narrow streets that give it a unique structure, appreciated even beyond our borders. "S'Algar", which rises on the coastal lands of the Rafalet estate, has become a prototype of a modern and rational tourist development, with numerous services and facilities.
