Talaiot Santa Monica

Menorca: Archaeology Talaiot Santa Monica

This archaeological site is located on the road to Santo Tomás, in one of the turnoffs to the left. It is interesting to observe a talaiot with some attached structures and, a little further towards the Atalis barranco, a residential naveta, which were the ancient houses of the pre-talayotic period in Menorca and Mallorca.

Its shape is an elongated horseshoe, that is, apsidal and with a somewhat concave facade. Pre-talayotic settlements were made up of several of these navetas, sometimes attached to each other.
